In 2025, we faced historic threats to the systems families rely on every day.
Families navigated funding cuts, growing waitlists, and a shrinking infrastructure, making care even harder to find and afford. These challenges exposed just how fragile and inadequate our care systems truly are. But caregivers, care recipients, and care workers kept showing up—with resilience, creativity, and deep love for one another.
Together, we advanced state policy wins, elevated care in pop culture, and brought care stories and organizing pressure directly to legislators in Washington, D.C., when Medicaid came under threat. We continued to shift the narrative, making it clear that this isn’t about personal responsibility, but about the public promises and systems that fail families and fall short when care is needed the most.
