New York—Caring Across Generations is partnering with Springbank Collective, Equimundo, and Paid Leave for All for a Father’s Day brunch on Friday, June 14 to celebrate the 44 million men who serve as caregivers. The event seeks to shift the way our society talks about and values care across the lifespan by identifying caregivers’ needs, supporting men as caregivers, and forging community.
Two in five family caregivers across the U.S. are men, with upwards of 16 million men caring for an aging relative or someone with a chronic illness or disability. Young fathers play increasingly dynamic and significant roles in parenting. Yet, caregiving men remain more isolated, struggling to ask for help. The majority of men in caregiving roles have reported feeling unprepared to take on care responsibilities.
During the event, leaders from across the entertainment, business and policy sectors will discuss what’s at stake for men in changing how our society supports and values care at every stage of life, and how men can be a part of the solution for families and as a nation.
