Alexandra Lakind, Campaigns Research Senior Associate / ACLS Leading Edge Fellow, is a researcher, artist, and educator whose practice is informed by their experiences as a caregiver and care worker, including as a domestic worker and child care provider in New Mexico and New York. Additionally, they have co-created programs with city and state agencies to support family child care providers across Wisconsin. Alexandra received a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and studied theater and performance at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and New York University. In addition to ongoing artistic collaborations, their current research asks how idealizations of children and families shape contemporary activism and possibilities for care. Alexandra lives near Lake Michigan (Ininwewi-gichigami) and appreciates time spent in the water.
