About Caring Across Generations:

Caring Across Generations is a national campaign working to make care more affordable and accessible at every stage of life, while making sure caregivers, people with disabilities and aging adults are treated with respect and dignity. Founded in 2011 by Sarita Gupta and Ai-jen Poo, our campaign is focused on creating change in three ways: convening a powerful coalition of state and national care organizations to advocate for the transformation of our nation’s care infrastructure’ fighting for groundbreaking policy at the state and federal level; and changing hearts and minds through storytelling and cultural change actions.

Position Summary

Our campaigns team is focused on building awareness, power, and action to reimagine our nation’s system of care at the local, state, and national levels of government. We lead and work in coalition with like-minded campaigns and organizations that seek to build power for caregivers and care consumers to live and age with dignity. The Senior Campaigns Manager will work closely with the Campaigns Director to implement issue based campaigns focused on rebuilding and reimaging our nation’s Care Infrastructure as well as building out our constituency model to maximize our impact in key states.

We are looking for a person to join our team who is excited about winning campaigns and leading actions that help our communities go beyond surviving to thriving.

Specifically, your daily work will include the following responsibilities:

    Take the lead to identify grassroots and national advocacy groups, service providers, and consumer groups to expand our constituency and build pathways that onboard community partners into Caring Across and our mission-driven campaigns.
  • Develop and execute strategic campaign plans that employ proven engagement tactics such as calls, emails, texting, and social media networking to achieve quantifiable/measurable campaign wins that advance our mission to change how care is given, valued and received i n this country.
  • Manage other campaign-driven activities with full consideration for COVID-19 regulations, as needed.
  • Steward relationships with supporters, volunteers and activists with a focus on building ongoing, transformational relationships with historical and newly engaged members of our constituency, including developing a bench of volunteer leaders.
  • Building and coordinating relationships with allied national and state-based organizations and Caring Across partners for shared advocacy campaigns and movement building opportunities.
  • Represent Caring Across in coalition spaces at the state and national level and use those opportunities to advance our mission and include new partners in our work.
  • Organize events, briefings, and other public actions in coordination with allied organizations, coalitions, policy stakeholders, and Caring Across partners.
  • Assist with the creation of core communications messaging for the campaign team’s projects and initiatives.
  • Evaluate and document progress through qualitative and quantitative means, in order to advance our learning and evaluation capacity.


  • At least 2 cycles or years of campaigning experience with an electoral, issue, or nonprofit or advocacy-centered organization or campaign.
  • Demonstrable experience building systems from the ground up.
  • Experience developing and implementing successful campaigns at the local, state, or national level.
  • Experience and a demonstrated commitment to working with diverse volunteers and supporters across all demographics and backgrounds–especially race, gender and class.
  • Familiarity with political and/or issue campaign tactics, including peer-to-peer texting, predictive dialers, and other technology commonly deployed in on-the-ground as well as digital campaigns.
  • Demonstrated use of proactive, innovative, and experimental campaign methods and tactics.
  • Self directed, work independently, anticipate challenges that may arise and problem solve challenges and adjust are important.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and change gears quickly and nimbly in a campaign environment.
  • Drive to develop themselves, and stretch to learn new skills and capacities.
  • A values-based belief that campaigning is first and foremost centered in building connections and relationships, and that distributing knowledge and power is central to system and long lasting change.
  • Must have access to strong wifi and good phone reception.

Compensation, Benefits and Work Schedule

This is a full-time, exempt position, with occasional evening and weekend work based on need. The salary is $85,000 – $90,000 (non-negotiable) and remote.
