Starting Salary: $100,000 – $105,000 (non-negotiable)

About Caring Across Generations:

Caring Across Generations (CAG) is a national campaign working to make care more affordable and accessible at every stage of life, while making sure caregivers are treated with respect and dignity. Founded in 2011 by Sarita Gupta and Ai-jen Poo, our campaign is focused on creating change in three ways: organizing a powerful movement of the Caring Majority – the majority of Americans who are directly affected by the need for care, fighting for groundbreaking policy at the state and federal level, and changing hearts and minds through storytelling and cultural organizing.

About the Position:

The Director of Operations will direct and oversee the internal operations of the campaign, evolve our current administrative and organizational systems and build new systems as needed to support our mission. The ideal candidate will be a detail oriented, strategic systems thinker with experience driving results in a campaign environment. They will have experience supervising others and managing a wide range of projects, while prioritizing equity and inclusion in all decision making


  • Support program and fiscal operations by building, enhancing, and refining systems and processes that are effective, efficient, and centered in equity and social justice.
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of the budget (expected to grow to $10m over the next five years), cash flow, projections, growth patterns and assisting with creating and tracking program budgets.
  • Work closely with the CFO and finance team of our fiscal sponsor organization (National Domestic Workers Alliance) to ensure that Caring Across is implementing best fiduciary stewardship practices for all financial processes.
  • Manage the organization’s technology resources and coordinate staff technology onboarding, training, and ongoing use of technology resources.
  • As a member of the Management Team, work with senior leadership to oversee the work of the campaign and ensure effective implementation of our strategies, and accountability to organizational policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate operations and workflow across the campaign and senior leadership team regarding the execution and successful implementation of campaign-wide projects.
  • Help ensure the multi-year process to build stronger systems are intertwined with our DEIA goals and timeline, and that the staff is fully engaged.
  • Ensure the workplace environment sets employees up for success and is grounded in deep accountability to the mission.
  • Oversee and support the Senior Manager of People & Culture Senior People Operations Manager to lead on workplace culture practices and provide expertise in the areas of hiring, performance management, employee relations and engagement, diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility, policy and procedure development and implementation, and HR compliance.


  • Leadership position in campaign or organizational management for at least 10+ years, with proven excellence in leading, implementing, and prioritizing projects spanning multiple projects and teams.
  • Budget management and forecasting for an organization or campaign of $6m+
  • Superb communication skills and ability to work effectively with people at all levels of the campaign with confidence and respect.
  • At least 5 years of experience leading project management for a similar campaign or organization.
  • Proven ability to move quickly on strategy and execution.
  • Experience with change management processes.
  • Extensive experience working with multiple digital platforms such as Google Workspace, Slack, Microsoft Office, and Zoom administration.
  • Demonstrated commitment to racial equity, gender justice, and to empowering low- and moderate-income communities, communities of color, and immigrant communities.
  • Acts with high integrity, professionalism, low ego, and camaraderie.
  • Commitment to the organization’s mission, values, and aspirations, and be able to render these values into action.

Compensation, Benefits and Work Schedule

This is a full-time, exempt position, with occasional evening and weekend work based on need. The salary is $100,000 – $105,000. The job is remote within the United States.
