Born and raised in Metro Detroit, Callie got her start organizing as a student at Michigan State University advocating for the retirement of the University’s on-campus coal plant. She has been working on progressive advocacy, democracy, and political campaigns ever since, both nationally and in her home state of Michigan. Callie has seen the impacts our broken care system can have on families while she and her mom cared for her father through his more than a decade long struggle with Parkinson’s. She is grateful for the opportunity to apply her skills to advocating for care policy solutions. In her free time, Callie likes taking care of her plants, her adopted senior dog, and hanging out in and around the Great Lakes.
