Alexandra is a millennial caregiver and organizer born, raised, and currently based in San Diego, California. She became a caregiver for her mother in 2019 which has given her a first hand perspective of the challenges that caregivers face in navigating the healthcare system and long term care while working towards a degree and establishing a career. Prior to joining the CAG team, Alexandra was a 2020-2021 Care Fellow. She completed a dual Master’s degree in Public Health and Latin American Studies in 2021 from the University of New Mexico where she concentrated on health policy and geography. Prior to her graduate studies, Alexandra was involved in food justice activism for nearly a decade. She is inspired by many interests including Mexican foodways and herbal medicine, cooking, hiking, and playing the jarana.
